Joe is the founder and Managing Partner of Venture Enterprises. Joe has recently retired from a 15 year tenure with Waste Management, Inc. (WM). Most recently Joe was the  Vice President, Corporate Venturing at WM where he was one of the founding members of the group responsible for developing new and innovative growth platforms in the environmental, sustainability, solid waste, recycling, energy and cleantech sectors. Joe has been recognized for these efforts by Global Corporate Venturing as part of their Global Top 100 people in corporate venturing for 2012 and 2013. Prior to this role, Joe spent 7 years as a Managing Director in the company’s waste to energy division responsible for their finance, strategy and asset optimization programs. Prior to joining Waste Management, Joe spent 10 years in entrepreneurial endeavors as part of various founding groups of start up and early stage companies in the high tech, entertainment, financial and business advisory services and industrial and environmental sectors including founder, CEO, Director, Cygnus Productions Inc, Founder, CEO, Director, Cygnus Records Inc., Co-Founder, Managing Director, Soundbased MediaWorks, LLC., Co-Founder, GP, RTC Group, LLC.,Co-Founder, Managing Director, MV Entertainment, LLC., Co-Founder, Director, Portal Access Direct, LLC., Co-Founder, SVP COO S4 Energy Solutions, LLC. Throughout these engagements, Joe has led in excess of$1 bil of debt and equity financings and an additional $600 mil of M&A activities. Joe has participated in both executive management and served as a board member for these start up and growth stage companies. Prior to his entrepreneurial activities, Joe held senior financial management roles at Corning, Foster Medical, NSC Corporation and Graebel Van Lines.

Joe holds a BS in accounting and finance as well as an MBA from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell. Over the years, Joe has served as a Board Member or Board Observer of 12 additional companies including, Garick, Microgreen Polymers, Enerkem, InEnTec, Agilyx, Recyclebank, Fulcrum Bioenergy, Provigil, DriveGreen, Renmatix and APT Water. Joe currently serves as an external Advisory Board member of The University of Massachusetts Lowell Manning School of Business and the ERB Institute for Global Sustainable Enterprise at the University of Michigan and an advisor to the International Recycling Group. Joe was a charter member of ICEX Corporate Venturing and a member of the Strategic Venture Association.
